Members and club officials are reminded that the use of One Event Competition Licenses (OECL) is restricted to approved classes and events only*. Please refer to the attached Motorcycling Australia – License Conditions and Endorsements Policy – Clause 17 – which lists the restrictions for use of OECL’s in certain defined disciplines and classes (only).
Clause 17 – NOTE 2: If the Event SRs provide for it, a One Event Competition Licence is available for:
a) National or State Championship Classic or Historic Events;
b) Competitors using modern machines competing in Veteran or Masters classes at National or State Championship Events;
c) Competitors competing at Trials State Championships, Open Trials events or Club and Inter Club Trials events; and
d) Competitors participating in Practice, Coaching, Recreation or Competition at Club or Inter Club Events; in addition to which
e) The RCB has discretion to grant exemptions, subject to conditions, and published in the SRs.
EOCL’s are not to be used in circumstances where a participant does not hold a National Senior / Junior Competition and wishes to enter any open competition event as a “one off” in motorcycle disciplines or classes not listed in the Policy.
A practice appears to have evolved where limitations in the attached policy are being disregarded and OECL’s are being accepted for any open competition/discipline. This practice may jeopardise any insurance liability cover for clubs and riders.
Race Secretaries are encouraged to contact MWA to discuss any impact this may have, prior to submitting Supplementary Regulations and creating Event permits in Ridernet (i.e. no OECL’s permitted on rider registration).
This Bulletin is effective from the date of publishing (12 April 2023) and any new S/R’s being submitted to MWA from this date onward. Current advertised events, S/R’s and rider registrations are not (retrospectively) impacted.
