Sunday 6th October saw the running of the penultimate round of the 2024 AGV Helmets Australia WA State Road Racing Championships at the Collie Motorplex, on the long track. Overnight rain made the conditions a little sketchy during early practice but track conditions were good with a dry track come race time.
The Go Moto Store Production Championship opened
the day’s proceedings and Lauchy Williams (Trakdayz Yamaha R3) made it very clear that the day was his with three strong wins. He was pushed all the way in each race by Joel Jenzen (Streetwise Automotive & Transport Yamaha R3) with three second places and Tim Wallace (Kawasaki Ninja 400) and Emily O’Brien (Registered Painters PL Yamaha R3) shared the third places, with O’Brien taking the last two of them and Wallace the first.
Williams leads the Championship with 231 points, Jenzen is second with 219 and Calvin Moylan is third on 202 points. In the Production Lights Series Martin Monahan took three wins and leads the Series on 261 points, second is Lexie McAdam on 237 with Tahlia Lang third on 164 points.
The Dynapumps Superbike Championship saw Sam Clarke (RS36 Suzuki GSXR1000) return to his winning form after his disastrous round 4, where he failed to score following mechanical issues. He took three convincing wins ahead of Bronson Pickett (Trakdayz Yamaha R1) who took three second places, with Adam Senior (Yamaha R1 and Ben Stronach VRT Signs Yamaha R1) sharing the minor placing. Stronach took third place in races one and three with Senior taking third in race two. Stronach leads the Championship on 243 points, equal second is Pickett and Senior with 235 points and Clarke is fourth on 225 points. Ross Hudson (Track Action Yamaha R1) leads the ‘C Grade’ Superbike Series with 273points
In the Olive & Co Stars of Tomorrow series Hayden Treversh (Martin 17 Coaching Kawasaki X-6R) made it a clean sweep of all three races. Second and third in the first two races were Brock Fallon (Westfill Yamaha R1) and Colm Keane (Motorcycle Assist Yamaha R1) respectively. In the third and final race for the day Keane finished second with Andrew Baker (Mintox Racing Suzuki GSXR 1000) filling the minor podium place. Treversh leads the Series with 125 points and he also is the leader in the 600 division. Brock Fallon is second overall and first 1000 with 106 points and Keane is outright third on 95 points.
The VRT Signs Sidecar saw three outfits dominate on the day. Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone (RHR Racing Kawasaki ZX-10) won the first two races and finished second in the final race. Sam Watson/Eamon Hegarty (Calmack Panel & Paint LCR Suzuki 1000) had a second and two third places and Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon (RHR Racing Kawasaki ZX-10) had a third, second and a win in the final race.
Tom Quaye/Joel Boborci (Meon Valley Racing Suzuki 600) were the best of the F2 with a fourth and two sixth places. Nash/Mapstone lead the Championship on 285 points and outright third are Quaye/Boborci on 197 points.
The Cully’s Yamaha Supersport Championship saw three riders dominate the round with Callum O’Brien
(Registered Painters P/L Kawasaki ZX-6R winning the three races and breaking the Supersport
lap record that had been set by Tommy King on the 10th October 2021.
The new record was set in race two and stands at 1:09.7600 seconds. Second in all three races was Sam Clarke (Rob Fannin Kawasaki ZX-6R) with Jordan White (Go Moto Store Yamaha R6) third in each race. Callum O’Brien leads the championship with 248 points, Adam Senior (Senior Engineering Honda CBR600RR) is second with 227 points
and Jordan White is third with 224 points. White leads the ‘Supersport ‘C’ Grade Series with 264 points.
