Sunday saw the senior riders take to the track at Pinjar Park, under another warm but perfect day of racing conditions. An overnight track preparation and cleanup ensured excellent track conditions for the first qualifying sessions, which began at approximately 8 a.m. With gate pick orders decided, the racing action officially kicked off at 10 a.m. Following a late surge of entries, all but the women’s class constituted, with seven (7) championship classes taking to the gates to begin the 2025 State Championships.
A good overnight track soaking ensured minimal dust throughout the day, contributing to the already exceptional track conditions. However, by the third (3rd) round of motos, the track had begun to show signs of wear, with deep ruts and whoops forming across the course. Riders were forced to carefully search for the smoothest lines as the track grew more challenging.
When the final chequered flag waved around 3:50 p.m., seven (7) riders were rewarded with series leader spoils until the next round. The championship action will continue at Round 2, which will be hosted by the Albany Motocross Club on May 3rd and 4th, promising another exciting chapter in the 2025 season.
