Clubs, Promoters and competitor supporters at our permitted events are reminded that the MA Crew Licence will provide all holders with Personal Accident insurance under the MAIL insurance scheme. The national Crew License is available to any crew, family or friends supporting a competitor in or around your events.
Following increased governance and compliance around event activities and the MAIL insurance policy, this licence may be used at the discretion of club/promoter or Relevant Controlling Bodies (MWA) in all disciplines as a means to restrict access to areas such as the pitlane, starting grid or start gates. Following a recent incident and injuries to support persons in the pit area (at a national event) it has highlighted that no Personal Accident insurance applies, unless you are the holder of this license.
This licence is not compulsory, but clubs and promoters will need to stipulate in the Supplementary Regulations if one is required to access certain areas, as approved by the RCB. The annual crew licence is available via Ridernet for $80.00. (NB – Current holders of a valid Senior National Competition Licence will not require a Crew Licence to receive the same insurance benefits if they crew for another rider, however they may require permission to access restricted areas that will be advised in the Supplementary Regulations of individual events).
Please consider this requirement (in your S/R’s) and encourage your members who provide rider support and access the restricted areas of your venue, to apply for this license.
