There are 4 Types of Senior Licence:
- Senior National Licence (MUST 16 years of age to apply). Will allow you to compete in Opens, State Championships, National Event, Club and Interclub Event.
- Senior Restricted Licence (MUST 16 years of age to apply). Will allow you to compete Mini-Moto, Fast 50's and Moto Trials
- Recreational Licence MUST 16 years of age to apply). Will allow you to participate in Non-Competitive Events, i.e. Tuning Days
- Mechanic Licence (MUST 16 years of age to apply).
Please Note: Persons under the age of 18 will require a guardian to sign the indemnity form

New applicants applying for a Senior National or Restricted National licence you will be required to complete a online theory test based on the information in the : Getting Started in the Motorcycle Sport booklet.
If you do not currently hold a road bike licence (R class) you are required to have a First Time Testing document completed by one of Motorcycling WA testing officers.
the First Time Testing Document can be found in the Getting Started in Motorcycle Sport booklet (pages 18 to 19).

All children whether upgrading from a Mini Licence to a Junior National Licence or applying for a first time Junior National Licence
MUST complete the competency assessment of the Kick Start book, and complete assessment 2 a short theory test based on the information
in the Kick Start book. The theory test can be completed online when applying for the licence or alternatively if applying manually you will
find the theory test at the back of the kick Start Book (pages 26 to 28).
You can apply for your child's Junior National licence once your child has completed assessment 1 & assessment 2 and you have all the relevant

2018 JET CAMP 23-26 APRIL - WAIS HIGH PERFORMANCE CENTRE

Motorcycling Western Australia brings an opportunity for Riders aged 13-18 years within WA, to be selected by our Coaching Committee to attend the 2018 Junior Elite Training Camp. MWA's Project Officer Mark Gill and Development Officer Hannah Lawton have been working together with the Western Australian Institute of Sport High Performance Centre to deliver a training program specific to our State's promising junior athletes. The 2018 camp will primarily be held at WAIS, utilizing their state of the art facilities and program presenters.The camp offers tuition and guidance from presenters and coaches who have competed and coached at World Championship level. No other Motorsport camp in Australia currently provides this!

GOMOTO INFORMATION FOR RIDERS
So you are interested in riding a GoMoto event. A GoMoto is an open day at the local Club where Seniors or Juniors can participate in a non competitive event. If you have never ridden a real motocross track before, this is your opportunity to experience the real thing! Ride in a safe environment on a fun track. Please read through the following guidelines.
WHO CAN RIDE A GOMOTO?
Anyone can ride a GoMoto. You can be a member of a Club, hold a Competition or Recreation Licence, or just be a member of the general riding public. Licences will be available to purchase on the day. It's a great way to meet new people who also enjoy riding dirt bikes. Get a group of mates together and have a track day without having to travel too far from home. Spectators welcome and full canteen facilities available.
WHAT TO EXPECT
On arrival at the event, you must sign the indemnity and complete the Self Scrutineering Form before you can enter the track.
Riding is from 9am to 3pm.
Riders must wear a helmet at all times when on the bike, even in the pit area.
Spectators are not permitted on the track.
Fires are not permitted. Any incidents should be reported to an Official.
Alcohol is not allowed to be brought into the venue.
Enclosed footwear must be worn in the pit area at all times.
MINIMUM RIDING GEAR
Appropriate off-road riding gear must be worn at all times.
A minimum standard of helmet (AS1698) or International Standard.
Goggles & gloves.
Off-road boots, a long sleeve shirt and sturdy pants.
We highly recommend knee and elbow pads, and body armour.
Helmet cameras are not permitted on helmets, but may be fitted to the motorcycle.
BIKE SAFETY & MAINTENANCE
Your bike should be in good mechanical condition.
Bar ends must be plugged, and handlebars must be fitted with padding on the cross bar.
If your bike is fitted with an aftermarket exhaust and it is deemed excessively noisy, (over 112db) you make be asked to leave the track.
TRACK GUIDELINES
The track is single direction only. Always follow the one direction.
Ride within your limits.
Only 40 riders permitted on the track at any one time, or 20 quad bikes at any one time.
Please follow directions of marshals and be patient if the track is full - your turn will come up soon.
No track cutting or riding off the track.
Be careful of overtaking, slower riders may be less skillful. Please give them room.
If you are being overtaken stick to the line you are on. If you move over you may collide with the rider overtaking you.
Do a sighting lap to familiarize yourself with the track before picking up speed.
Jumping is not compulsory, if you are not comfortable roll the jumps.
No riding of bikes anywhere except on the track, and directly to and from the track at strictly walking pace, 1st gear.
Motorcycle riding is dangerous, you may be seriously injured or your machinery damaged so please ride within your limits and at your own pace, respect other riders and the environment.
FLAGS
There will be flags in use for safety reasons and to help you enjoy your day.
Please follow instructions from the flag marshals when you are on the track.
Red Flag: Riding stopped. Ride slowly back to the pit area on the track. Do not cut the track. Follow direction of Officials.
Yellow flag: Slow down, no jumping or passing. There may be an incident ahead or there may be something blocking the track.
Chequered flag: End of session. Return to pits.
Senior MX competitors will be graded to follow the following criteria:-
- Own track advantage
- Lap times compared to grade above
- Competition at time of grading
- Track Condition
- Previous performance at both Open Events and State Rounds
The Sporting Panel reserves the right to downgrade any competitor who is not consistent with the standard of competition in
his/her respective grade using the above criteria.
When a Senior Rider has been identified as riding out of his/her respective grade, the matter will be directly referred to the
Motocross Sporting Panel for endorsement prior to informing the rider.
All correspondence regarding the grading of senior motocross competitors is to be directed to Motorcycling Sporting Panel
who will make the final decision. Forward a letter or email to: jback@motorcyclingwa.org.au
1. A team to be formed with a minimum of two members. appointed by the MX Sporting Panel
2. The team will follow the criteria below to recommend upgrades this will be forwarded to the Sporting Panel for
approval.
3. Junior motocross competitors, who are currently graded in a particular capacity, class, can age permitting, move
up a larger capacity machine,but they will be automatically graded to suit the criteria below.
4. The grading team will consider the following points when upgrading:
Own track advantage.
Lap times compared to next grade.
Competition at time of grading,
Track condition.
Previous performance in both Open Events and State Rounds.
4. The MX Sporting Panel reserves the right to downgrade any competitor who is not consistent with the standard
of competition in his/her espective grade using the same criteria as above.
5. When a rider has been identified as riding out of his/her respective grade, the matter will be directly referred to
the MX Sporting Panel.
7. All riders graduating to a larger capacity bike or competing on 2 classes of bike capacity will have the same grading
on both bikes.
8. All correspondence regarding the grading of junior motocross competitors is to be directed to the Motorcycling WA
