Merry Christmas From Motorcycling Australia
It has been another extraordinary year for Australian motorcycle racing. On a domestic level we have seen some of the most exciting and hard fought racing across all our championships this year be it the AORC, ASBK, MX Nationals, Speedway, Supercross or Trials.

We have also tasted  victory on the international stage, the Woman’s and Men’s ISDE Teams, Toby Price winning the world rally raid championship, Josh Hook being part of the World Endurance Championship winning team,  Bailey Malkiewicz taking out the World Junior 125cc Championship hosted on home soil in Horsham, Australia. With Braden Plath taking victory in World 65cc Cup Australia also took out the world teams trophy.

2018 has also seen another first, the formation of the Motorcycling Australia Alliance. For the first time ever, with the exception of Motorcycling Victoria, all six State Controlling Bodies and MA have come together with the intention of improving the motorcycling environment for all motorcyclists. There are exciting plans for 2019 with reviews to take place across many platforms to standardise and improve our programs and services, with training for our officials, commissions, insurance review, financial modelling, licensing and permitting processes plus Ridernet to name a few.

Recreational riding will continue to be a focus of the Alliance with plans underway to continue growth in this market to provide an increased number of lower cost recreational riding opportunities.

In 2018 with Yamaha support two new junior programs were created, the Yamaha 65cc Cup in Motocross and the Oceania Junior Cup under the “Road to MotoGP” program in road race to commence in 2019, both programs providing a fantastic platform for aspiring juniors.

2019 is going to be another exciting year, no doubt with more world championships to celebrate, exciting domestic series and riders just having fun doing what we all love doing - riding our bike.

From all of us in the Alliance we hope all our member have a fantastic and safe Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
