WAMX Make Smoking History State Junior Motocross Champs Round 5

There is only two short weeks left until the WAMX Make Smoking History State Junior Motocross Championships Round 5 and the series is off to Wanneroo another sand track for this the penultimate round of the series.

That’s right the Wanneroo Junior Motocross Club will be hosting this round at their Pinjar Park circuit which is approximately 1.8km long with a mix of surfaces but is renowned for its deep sand, the track has recently undergone some small changes and the fast flowing track has some technical sections which should provide some heart thumping racing.

In the 65cc 10-U12 years, the battle between Kayden Minear and Deacon Paice, who both will be competing at the World Junior Motocross Championships later this month, could be intense with both these riders competing at their home track and vying to take the top spot on the podium, it should be exciting to watch. But keep an eye on Patrick Butler, Kai McGinty and Jake Rumens who are hot on their heels.

Mason Brown found his mojo in the last round with straight moto wins to hold on to the red plate and he is another rider who has the home ground advantage this round over Deegan Fort and Patrick Day.  Brown holds an impressive 56 points but anything can happen when they hit the track.

In tough conditions Rhys Burnett managed to again hold the onto the red plate in both the 128/250cc 13-U16 years and the 100-125cc 13-U16 years but can he hold off an inform Corben Weinert these two classes will be the ones to watch to see how the series unfolds. Seth Manuel and Sam Stephen are looking to cement their positions and perhaps even close the gap as this round in the 100-125cc class. Conan Forrester is now only 11 points behind Rhys in the 128/250cc class with only 21 points separating the top four in this class the racing should be spectacular.

Even in the wet conditions last round Jae Dowsett was unstoppable and again was on the podium winning every race in the Quad up to 200/250cc 12-U16 years. Flynn Burton and Brooke Hall will be looking to consolidate their positions before the final round.

Add another rider that will be at the World Junior Motocross Championships in form Seth Shackleton into the mix alongside Kayden Minear and Deacon Paice in the 85cc 9/U12 years and the racing should be action packed, can Kayden make it another set of straight moto wins to hold onto to the series lead?

We can’t forget the future of motocross, the 50cc Demonstration class will be a feature at this round too, these little guys and girls will also take to the track for some entertaining racing.
