After an exciting penultimate round at Shrubland Park Bunbury, the Series now moves to Coastal Park, Henderson On Sunday September 16th for our final round.
Shrubland Park lived up to its reputation and there were thrills and spills galore, some very exciting racing and results were shaken up and around.
Coastal Park, home of The Coastal Motorcycle Club, is one of our prestigious clubs and the track can be fast and furious BUT with hidden depths that can take a racer unaware and bite hard.
All the Championship Classes will be on show and in fine form. Some titles seem to be secured but the battles will be down to the wire especially in the minor places.
No doubt about it – Round 6 will be a thriller with the MX1 & MX2 Top Ten placed riders’ points all tightening up after Round 5. After suffering bike problems at Bunbury, Josh Adams is sure to be on point to regain valuable points in the Motul Oils MX2 Championship, so Dylan Sexton, Mitchell Outram and series leader David Birch will have to be in prime racing form on the day.
Dean Porter has a 73 point lead in Shannons Insurance MX1 Championship over Michael Mahon but do not discount Michael’s ambition and drive to make Dean work for his lead. Dean rode the wheels off his KTM at Bunbury but you can be sure that Michael’s Yamaha will be on fire here at Coastal. Chris Ruttico had mixed fortunes at Bunbury, so you can be sure that he will also be on his A Game here.
Do not count out any rider in the top ten in either of these classes because they are all in awesome racing form and will take it to all and sundry who are on the track!
Jess Moore dominated at Bunbury in the Cullys Yamaha Women’s Championship and leads the Championship by 41 points. However there are some excellent lady racers in this field and all are very capable of taking it up to Jess. After an accident at King of The Cross this year, Chelsea Blakers may re-appear here at Bunbury and be wanting to regain some points in her fight for position in the points. Lily Kent, Hannah & Meaghan Bagnall to name a few are not to be discounted either.
After also suffering bike issues at Bunbury in the Make Smoking History Quad Championships, you can be sure that Chris Bosnakis will have that sorted and be back with a vengeance as he leads the Championship by only 30 points from Shaun Woodhead and Blake Croonen is poised to take serious points also. We saw roll-overs, flying quads at Bunbury, so what will happen at Coastal Park?
Our Veterans Championship make their return to Coastal Park also for their series final – how will they fare on this deep sand track? Their last round at Beverley saw their Championship leader Rex Brown hold onto his lead by 7pts from Paul Smithson and Trevor Unstead sits in 3rd place another 24 points down.
