WA’s Trials girls doing their stuff!
The discipline of trials is rapidly becoming a new area for women and girls to become involved in motorcycling, testing their skills and balance in difficult terrain is a real challenge.

Even a stunningly cold, wet morning at the recent Beta Blackwood Two Day interclub trial event at Kirup couldn’t keep Charli Smith (aged 9) and Holly Wilson (aged 9) from competing in the intro lines along with 5 other junior riders.

With 15 sections (8 sections for the juniors)  the girls were determined to finish each line, no matter how challenging it was.

Holly displayed great balance on her Oset 20, while Charli focussed on getting familiar with her new Sherco 50. Frank Patane and his team did a great job putting out intro lines that tested the riders yet still allowed them to achieve some great scores.

Charli managed to take out 4th place with a total score of 80, and Holly received the bronze medal with a total score of 44.

Little 5 yo Harriet Smith is not old enough to compete with the older girls, but was happy to ride around on her  Serco practicing her skills ready for when she is able to join the older girls Well done Harriett!

All the girls are members of the AJS Moto Trials club in Wanneroo. Make sure you get along to say hello and check out the action when you are in the area.
We look forward to seeing the girls tackle the next event.
